Yesterday, as I was browsing the friends list of my friend RaeAnne's livejournal, someone posted an e-mail from Hollins about the recent death of Hollins' new president. I didn't even know she had died until I read that journal entry.

Apparently, Hollins President Dr. Nora Kizer Bell died last Saturday of complications from pneumonia. She was officially inaugurated in February 2003, having taken the office in July of 2002, so she was president for about a year and a half.

What shocking news.

I didn't know Dr. Bell, as I graduated in 2001. However, as Hollins was an important part of my life, the news is...weird...unexpected.
